🏸 2026 results
Every 2026 result we record for Hina Akechi, tournament by tournament. Tournament names link to our summary page for that event (draw, the other Japanese entries, and how to follow the broadcast). ⚠️The Korea Masters in August is the one event here with no page on this site: its dates and grade come from our own 2026 tournament calendar, and the score comes from the BWF official player page. 🆕The Thailand Masters in January is covered by our Thailand Masters 2027 page, which lists the score of every Japanese match at the 2026 edition; this page counts those as our record (added on 19 September 2026). 🆕The Swiss Open in March is the same: our Swiss Open 2027 page carries her first round there as a 2026 result, so it became a result card on 20 September 2026 (until then the related list on this page still said we had not). 🆕The Orleans Masters the following week is the same: our Orleans Masters 2027 page (published on 21 September 2026) carries her first round there, so it became a result card the same day. 🆕The All England Open in March 2026 is not one of the cards below, because we hold no page for that tournament — but her first-round score is recorded further down this page (added on 24 September 2026).
Thailand Masters
Super 300・Bangkok, Thailand
Seeded 3rd, she reached the last eight. First round on 28 January: Aakarshi KASHYAP (IND) 21-17, 21-18 in 42 minutes. Second round on 29 January: qualifier PENG Yu Wei (TPE) 21-18, 16-21, 22-20 in 58 minutes. 🔴The quarter-final on 30 January went to 5th seed HUANG Yu-Hsun (TPE), 21-12, 13-21, 12-21 in 47 minutes — she took the opening game 21-12 and lost the next two. Huang then lost her semi-final to the eventual champion, Devika SIHAG (IND). 🆕The three scores are carried as 2026 results on our Thailand Masters 2027 page, published on 19 September 2026. That table gives only the Japanese side, so the opponents, dates and durations come from two agreeing sources: BWF's official day-by-day match data and the English Wikipedia draw.
Swiss Open 2026
Super 300・Basel, Switzerland
Unseeded, she lost her only match of the week in the first round on 11 March, 8-21, 16-21 to compatriot Tomoka Miyazaki, the 3rd seed. 🔁They met again in the China Masters first round in September — Miyazaki is the only player Akechi faced twice in the eleven matches (a third meeting followed in the Denmark Open second round on 15 October, not counted) (see eleven matches in 2026). 🆕Added on 20 September 2026: the result is carried as a 2026 result on our own Swiss Open 2027 page, and we checked it against the Nippon Badminton Association's day page for 11 March and the English Wikipedia draw. Our tournament page writes it from Miyazaki's side as 21-8, 21-16.
Orleans Masters 2026
Super 300・Orléans, France
Unseeded, she lost her first round on 18 March to compatriot Nozomi Okuhara, the 5th seed, 21-19, 13-21, 17-21 — she took the opening game by two points and lost the next two. 🔁It was her second all-Japanese first round in two weeks, after Tomoka Miyazaki at the Swiss Open. Okuhara went on to win the title without losing a match, and the opening game Akechi took here was the only game Okuhara dropped all week. 🆕Added on 21 September 2026: this result was already on our own Orleans Masters 2027 page as a 2026 result, written from Okuhara's side as 19-21, 21-13, 21-17. The Nippon Badminton Association's day page for 18 March and the English Wikipedia draw agree on the opponent, the score and the date.
76th All Japan Corporate Team Championships
All Japan Corporate Team Championships・Fukaya, Saitama, Japan
Saishunkan Pharmaceutical entered at the round of 16 and reached the semi-finals; Akechi actually played two rubbers, winning one. In the round of 16 against Honegori Sagamihara she won at first singles 7-15, 15-3, 15-8 over Yuki Higashitani — after losing the opening game 7-15. In the quarter-final against Yonex she was listed at second singles against Natsuki Nihei, but the tie was decided 3-0 before her rubber. In the semi-final against Gifu Bluvic she lost at first singles 15-7, 11-15, 12-15 to Kana Furukawa, and the tie went 0-3. Saishunkan had won the round of 16 by 3-1. 🔴The order for that semi-final was Akechi at first singles, Riko Gunji at second and Akane Yamaguchi at third — and neither of them hit a shuttle, because the tie was already over. ⚠️Our own tournament page holds only the five rubbers of each final, so these three come from the official live-results site. Played to 15 points, best of three, with no match times published.
Daihatsu Japan Open
Super 750・Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium
She lost her first round on 14 July to the top seed, An Se Young (KOR), 6-21, 9-21 in 32 minutes. It is one of the three 2026 matches we hold for her that finished in two games (the others are her Thailand Masters first round in January and her Swiss Open first round in March). Our tournament page writes it from An's side as 21-6, 21-9. 🔴Our tournament page carried this match, but this page did not until 17 September 2026. The score and the duration match BWF's official day data.
China Open
Super 1000・Changzhou, China
She lost her first round on 21 July to NGUYEN Thuy Linh (VIE), 10-21, 21-10, 14-21 in 56 minutes — she lost the opening game 10-21, took the second by exactly the reverse score, then lost the decider. Our tournament page writes it from Nguyen's side as 21-10, 10-21, 21-14. 🔴This match was also missing from this page until 17 September 2026. The score and the duration match BWF's official day data.
Korea Masters 2026
Super 300・Asan, South Korea
She lost the quarter-final 22-20, 15-21, 19-21 in 63 minutes to Ashmita CHALIHA (IND). She took the opening game from 20-20 to close it 22-20, then lost the next two. ⚠️We do not have a summary page for this event. The score comes from the two most recent matches listed on the BWF official player page. The dates and grade — 4 to 9 August, Asan, Super 300, US$250,000 — are from our own 2026 tournament calendar.
China Masters
Super 750・Shenzhen, China
Her first round on 2 September was an all-Japanese tie against Tomoka Miyazaki, lost 21-19, 17-21, 19-21 in 69 minutes. 🔴That all-Japanese first round was not in the original draw — ten first-round pairings changed after the draw we recorded on 26 August, and this was one of them. 🔁It ended in exactly the same shape as her Korea Masters quarter-final the month before (see Two matches, one shape).
Malaysia Super 100 2026
Super 100・Malaysia
Akechi is not in the 2026 BWF main draw (she is playing the Denmark Open that week). At the 2025 edition Akechi reached the semi-finals and lost 8-21, 19-21 to Nozomi Okuhara, who went on to win the title. We do not guess at entry lists.
Kaohsiung Masters 2026
Super 100・Kaohsiung, Taiwan
Entries for 2026 have not been published yet. The 2025 edition (23 to 28 September, Kaohsiung Arena) had an all-Japanese women's singles final, and Akechi was the runner-up, losing 16-21, 17-21 to Nozomi Okuhara. Japan won four of the five titles at that event.
Syed Modi International 2026
Super 300・Lucknow, India
🥇Akechi won the women's singles at the 2025 edition (14th, 25 to 30 November), beating Neslihan ARIN (TUR) 21-16, 21-14 in the final. It was her first BWF World Tour title, and her club's official page lists it too. We have not confirmed whether she will play the 2026 edition.
Guwahati Masters 2026
Super 100・Guwahati, India
Entries for 2026 have not been published yet. At the 2025 edition Akechi was the 3rd seed and reached the semi-finals. 🔴No Japanese player or pair has ever won a title here across three editions and 15 events, and her semi-final is one of only two best-ever Japanese results at this tournament (the other is the 2024 men's doubles of Masayuki Onodera and Hiroto Tanioka). It started two days after she won the Syed Modi International the week before, and she won four more matches there.
Scores are written from Hina Akechi's point of view (Akechi's points first). Only matches completed by 21 September 2026 are listed. Matches in progress are not listed.
🔁 Two matches, one shape
We hold nine 2026 international matches for Hina Akechi, and two of them — August and September — came from a different tournament, opponent and country with almost the same game-by-game scoreline. The Swiss Open in March and the two in July (the Japan Open and China Open first rounds) all began with a lost opening game, so they do not share this shape. Her Thailand Masters quarter-final in January (21-12, 13-21, 12-21 to HUANG Yu-Hsun) was also lost after she took the opening game, but she won that game by nine points and lost the decider 12-21, so the scoreline is different (she had won both of her earlier matches there). 🆕The closest is her Orleans Masters first round in March (21-19, 13-21, 17-21 to Nozomi Okuhara): the same two-point opening game and the same lost second game, but the decider went 17-21.
- August — Korea Masters, quarter-final: 22-20, 15-21, 19-21 to Ashmita CHALIHA (IND) in 63 minutes. The opening game went past 20-20.
- 2 September — China Masters, first round: 21-19, 17-21, 19-21 to Tomoka Miyazaki in 69 minutes. ⚠️Our China Masters 2026 page writes the same match from Miyazaki's side as 19-21, 21-17, 21-19 — the same match, flipped here to Akechi's point of view.
※In both matches: take the opening game by two points, lose the second, lose the decider 19-21. A table of rounds reached would read only “quarter-finals, first round”. The difference is keeping the score of every game. We do not speculate about reasons or about how a player felt on the day.
📋 Eleven matches in 2026
🆕On 20 September 2026 we added her first round at the Swiss Open (Super 300, Basel) in March, and on 21 September her first round at the Orleans Masters (Super 300, Orléans) the following week. That makes the eleven matches we had recorded up to 2 September 2026 read three wins and eight defeats. (That runs to the China Masters first round on 2 September; her All England match and her later matches at the Arctic Open and the Denmark Open are written separately and are not in this count.) The figure below lists them tournament by tournament.
- 🔁Tomoka Miyazaki is the only player she faced twice in the eleven matches (a third meeting, the Denmark Open second round on 15 October, 18-21, 15-21, is not counted) — the Swiss Open first round in March 8-21, 16-21 and the China Masters first round in September 21-19, 17-21, 19-21. Both were first rounds and both were defeats. The same two meetings, seen from the other side, are on Tomoka Miyazaki's page.
- 🇯🇵In March she lost all-Japanese first rounds in consecutive weeks — to Tomoka Miyazaki at the Swiss Open on 11 March and to Nozomi Okuhara at the Orleans Masters on 18 March, 21-19, 13-21, 17-21. Okuhara went on to win that title, and the opening game Akechi took was the only game Okuhara dropped all week.
- ⚖️Three finished in two games: the Thailand Masters first round in January (won 21-17, 21-18), the Swiss Open first round in March (8-21, 16-21) and the Japan Open first round in July (6-21, 9-21). She did not take a game in either of the two she lost.
- 🟢The three wins were the Thailand Masters first and second rounds in January and the All Japan Corporate round of 16 in June. Two of the three came in January, and January was the only international event where she won at all.
Scores are written from Akechi's point of view. Sources: our own tournament pages, the Nippon Badminton Association's day-by-day results, the English Wikipedia draws and the BWF official player page. We do not speculate about why any of it happened.
🏴 All England 2026
⚠️We have no summary page for the 2026 All England Open. The tournament itself was a Super 1000 held from 3 to 8 March 2026 at the Utilita Arena Birmingham, England. It is therefore not in the results cards above, nor in this page's counts of eleven matches and nine international matches. But her first-round score agrees between the official BWF day data and the draw on English Wikipedia, so we record it here (added on 24 September 2026).
- 4 March|First round: lost 15-21, 15-21 in 42 minutes to the 2nd seed Wang Zhiyi (CHN). Akechi was unseeded.
Wang went on to win all five of her matches and the title. She also beat Tomoka Miyazaki in the quarter-final and Akane Yamaguchi in the semi-final, so Akechi was the first of the three Japanese players Wang beat that week.
Sources: the official BWF day data (women's singles first round, Court 3) and the draw on English Wikipedia, which agree on the score. We do not explain why any of it happened.
🏆 Career highlights
- 2025 — Syed Modi International — women's singles champion

Her club's official page lists “2024 All Japan Championships, women’s singles, 3rd”. The same year she was runner-up at the All Japan Corporate Championships. The final was against fellow Japanese player Riko Gunji, and it was Gunji's first BWF World Tour title. The 2026 edition of the same series ran in Pontianak, Indonesia, from 1 to 6 September.
📅 What's next
Akechi is out of the China Masters 2026 (Super 750, Shenzhen), beaten in the first round on 2 September. She is not in the squad of ten men and ten women that the Nippon Badminton Association named on 19 May 2026 for the 2026 Asian Games in Ichinomiya, Aichi.
The autumn and winter calendar is full of events where she did well a year ago — the Malaysia Super 100 from 13 to 18 October (semi-finalist in 2025; not in the 2026 main draw), the Kaohsiung Masters from 10 to 15 November (runner-up in 2025), the Syed Modi International from 24 to 29 November (champion in 2025) and the Guwahati Masters from 1 to 6 December (semi-finalist in 2025).
🗓️October in Europe: She is on the list of self-funded entrants the Nippon Badminton Association published on 11 September 2026 for three events. At the Arctic Open 2026 (6–11 October, Finland, Super 500) she went out in the first round on 6 October, losing to Amalie Schulz (DEN) 21-7, 18-21, 22-24 (60 minutes) after taking the first game. At the Denmark Open 2026 (13–18 October, Denmark, Super 750) she beat LIN Hsiang Ti (TPE) 21-15, 21-17 in the first round on 13 October, and lost an all-Japanese second round on 15 October to Tomoka Miyazaki, the 6th seed, 18-21, 15-21, going out in the second round. The following week comes the French Open 2026 (20–25 October, France, Super 750): in the main draw published on 15 October she meets Michelle LI (CAN) in the first round (unseeded; BWF). Withdrawals after the draw are still possible, so please check the BWF draw for the latest. ⚠️These three matches are not in the eleven-match count above (scores from Akechi's side).
⚠️ Entries for the Kaohsiung Masters, the Syed Modi International and the Guwahati Masters have not been published. Akechi is not in the BWF main draw for the Malaysia Super 100, which runs in the same week as the Denmark Open (13–18 October). We do not guess who will play. Linked pages are in Japanese.

⚠️On the Nippon Badminton Association roster, Akechi was listed under the women's U24 national team on 12 September 2026, and not on the senior women's national team. Her club's official player page describes her as a “2026 Japan national team player”. We publish both wordings and do not declare one of them correct. Her club's official results list also gives two 2026 entries — “Malaysia Open, WS 3rd” and “Thailand Open, WS 3rd”. For the Thailand Open we now hold a page: our Thailand Open 2027 summary, published on 30 September 2026, carries the 2026 edition and has Akechi in the last four, beaten in the semi-final by Chen Yufei 17-21, 19-21; the draw in the English Wikipedia article “2026 Thailand Open (badminton)” gives the same score, checked on 2 October 2026. That result is not yet in the cards or the figure for the 11 matches below. For the Malaysia Open we still have no second source, so we do not give dates, opponents or scores there.

🔍 Keep your own scoresheet
Of the eleven 2026 matches we had recorded for Hina Akechi up to 2 September, eight went to three games. The three two-game matches were her Thailand Masters first round in January, won 21-17, 21-18, her Swiss Open first round in March, 8-21, 16-21 to Tomoka Miyazaki, and her Japan Open first round in July, 6-21, 9-21 to the top seed An Se Young. 🔁Of the seven matches where she took the opening game, she won only two — the first and second rounds of the Thailand Masters in January — and lost the other five from a game up (the Thailand Masters quarter-final in January, the Orleans Masters first round in March, the All Japan Corporate semi-final in June, the Korea Masters quarter-final in August and the China Masters first round in September). Of the four where she lost the opening game, she won only one — the All Japan Corporate round of 16 in June. A table of rounds reached would show none of this.

❓ Frequently asked questions
Who does Hina Akechi play for?
Saishunkan Pharmaceutical, in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. The Nippon Badminton Association's official player page lists her team as Saishunkan Pharmaceutical. She was born on 14 March 2005, is 155cm tall, plays left-handed, comes from Sakai in Osaka Prefecture and attended Yanai Shoko High School. Her club's own official player page gives the same date of birth, the same height, the same home town and the school route Yanai Junior High to Yanai Shoko High School, and adds that she wears number 5. Akane Yamaguchi and Riko Gunji play for the same club.
What is Hina Akechi's world ranking?
World No. 22 in women's singles as of 13 October 2026. The official BWF ranking (Week 42) and the specialist outlet Badminton Spirit's list dated 13 October both give 22nd with 47,540 points. On 15 September 2026 (48,620 points) and on 8 September 2026 she was also 22nd, as shown by “WORLD RANK 22” on the BWF official player page and by the English Wikipedia article on her. Her career high is World No. 21, on 2 June 2026. The BWF player page also showed “WORLD TOUR RANK 9” at that time, which is a separate list built only from that season's World Tour results. World rankings are updated every week, so please read this as a dated record rather than a current figure, and check the BWF website for the latest list.
Is Hina Akechi on the Japan national team?
The two official sources word it differently. On the Nippon Badminton Association's roster she was listed under the women's U24 national team on 12 September 2026, and not on the senior women's national team. Her club's official player page describes her as a “2026 Japan national team player”. We publish both and do not declare one of them correct. She is not in the squad of ten men and ten women that the association named on 19 May 2026 for the 2026 Asian Games.
Has Hina Akechi won an international title?
Yes. She won the women's singles at the Syed Modi International in Lucknow, India, from 25 to 30 November 2025 (Super 300, US$240,000), beating Neslihan ARIN (TUR) 21-16, 21-14 in the final. It was her first BWF World Tour title, and her club's official page lists it among her 2025 results. It was Japan's fifth title at that tournament. Two days later the Guwahati Masters began, and she reached the semi-finals there as the 3rd seed.
What are Hina Akechi's 2026 results so far?
We record eight events up to September (her October matches at the Arctic Open and the Denmark Open are written separately under “What's next” on this page). In January she reached the quarter-finals of the Thailand Masters (Super 300, Bangkok) as the 3rd seed, winning her first two matches and then losing 21-12, 13-21, 12-21 in 47 minutes to HUANG Yu-Hsun (TPE). In March she lost her first round at the Swiss Open (Super 300, Basel) 8-21, 16-21 to Tomoka Miyazaki, the 3rd seed, and a week later she lost an all-Japanese first round at the Orleans Masters (Super 300, Orléans) 21-19, 13-21, 17-21 to Nozomi Okuhara, the 5th seed and eventual champion. At the 76th All Japan Corporate Team Championships in June she played two singles rubbers for Saishunkan and won one. In July she lost in the first round at both the Daihatsu Japan Open (Super 750, Tokyo) and the China Open (Super 1000, Changzhou): 6-21, 9-21 in 32 minutes to the top seed An Se Young (KOR), and 10-21, 21-10, 14-21 in 56 minutes to NGUYEN Thuy Linh (VIE). At the Korea Masters in August (Super 300, Asan, South Korea) she reached the quarter-finals, losing 22-20, 15-21, 19-21 to Ashmita CHALIHA (IND) in 63 minutes. At the China Masters in September (Super 750, Shenzhen) she lost an all-Japanese first round 21-19, 17-21, 19-21 to Tomoka Miyazaki in 69 minutes. Those last two ended the same way: she took the opening game by two points and lost the decider 19-21. We do not list results of matches that have not finished.
How far did Hina Akechi go at the 2026 Thailand Masters?
She was the 3rd seed and reached the quarter-finals. She beat Aakarshi KASHYAP (IND) 21-17, 21-18 in 42 minutes in the first round on 28 January, and qualifier PENG Yu Wei (TPE) 21-18, 16-21, 22-20 in 58 minutes in the second round on 29 January. In the quarter-final on 30 January she lost 21-12, 13-21, 12-21 in 47 minutes to the 5th seed, HUANG Yu-Hsun (TPE), after taking the opening game. Huang then lost her semi-final to the eventual champion, Devika SIHAG (IND). The scores are carried as 2026 results on our Thailand Masters 2027 page, and the opponents, dates and durations were checked against BWF's official day-by-day match data and the English Wikipedia draw. The 2027 Thailand Masters is scheduled for 16 to 21 February 2027 in Bangkok.
Have Hina Akechi and Nozomi Okuhara played each other?
Yes, three times in the records we hold, and Okuhara won all three. The first two came in the autumn of 2025: the Kaohsiung Masters final (Super 100, Kaohsiung Arena) at 16-21, 17-21, and the Malaysia Super 100 semi-final at 8-21, 19-21. The third was the first round of the Orleans Masters on 18 March 2026, 21-19, 13-21, 17-21, the only one of the three in which Akechi took a game; Okuhara went on to win that title and dropped no other game all week. All three scores are written here from Akechi's point of view. The Kaohsiung final was an all-Japanese one in a week when Japan won four of the five titles, and Okuhara went on to win the Malaysia Super 100 as well.
How far did Hina Akechi go at the All Japan Corporate Team Championships?
Saishunkan Pharmaceutical entered at the round of 16 and reached the semi-finals, and Akechi played two rubbers, winning one. In the round of 16 against Honegori Sagamihara she won at first singles 7-15, 15-3, 15-8 over Yuki Higashitani. In the semi-final against Gifu Bluvic she lost at first singles 15-7, 11-15, 12-15 to Kana Furukawa. She was also named at second singles in the quarter-final against Yonex, but that tie was decided 3-0 before her rubber. Because the semi-final ended 0-3, Riko Gunji at second singles and Akane Yamaguchi at third singles never played. Our own tournament page holds only the five rubbers of each final, so these come from the official live-results site.
Have Hina Akechi and Tomoka Miyazaki played each other?
Yes, three times in 2026 in the records we hold, and Miyazaki won all three (first rounds in March and September, the second round in October). The first was the Swiss Open on 11 March, 8-21, 16-21 to Miyazaki as the 3rd seed. The second was the China Masters on 2 September, 21-19, 17-21, 19-21 in 69 minutes. Both scores are written here from Akechi's point of view; our tournament pages write them from Miyazaki's side as 21-8, 21-16 and 19-21, 21-17, 21-19. The third was the Denmark Open second round on 15 October 2026, 18-21, 15-21 (the event is still going on, so it is not in the eleven-match count on this page). Miyazaki is the only player Akechi has met more than once in 2026. They also met in the Orleans Masters final in March 2024, which Miyazaki won 21-18, 21-12.
Did Hina Akechi play at the 2026 All England?
Yes. She entered the 2026 All England Open (Super 1000, Birmingham, England, 3 to 8 March) unseeded and lost in the first round on 4 March to the 2nd seed Wang Zhiyi (CHN), 15-21, 15-21 in 42 minutes. Wang went on to win all five of her matches and the title. The score is confirmed against the official BWF day data and the draw on English Wikipedia. We hold no summary page for that tournament, so it is not one of the results cards above; it is recorded in its own section on this page.
Where can I watch Hina Akechi play?
Broadcast and streaming differ from tournament to tournament. Each of our tournament pages has a section on how to find the broadcast, so please follow the links in the results cards above. We do not state broadcast plans that have not been confirmed. Japanese broadcasters and streaming services are usually announced only as an event approaches, so please check the tournament's official site and BWF. Not every event has a page here — we have no summary page for the 2026 Korea Masters, for example.
